Seek ye first the kingdom of God” is to make God’s reign and righteousness the top priority in our lives. It is not a matter of labor or toil, but of hunger and desire for God’s presence and holiness in our hearts. It also implies living by God’s laws and striving for his will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. By seeking the kingdom of God first, we trust that God will provide for our needs.
